A lifelong fascination with how language carries culture. I'm always learning - Arabic is the current long project.
Rwandan by origin, Belgian by upbringing, curious by nature - here's the story behind the journeys, and what I'm really looking for out on the road.

— somewhere on the road
I grew up moving between worlds, and I've learned to treat that in-between as a compass rather than a question.
Being of Rwandan origin and raised in Brussels gave me a dual identity early on - African heritage and European experience, side by side. For a long time it felt like something to explain. Now it's the thing that lets me sit comfortably in a market in Marrakesh, a church-and-mosque coastal town like Malindi, or a family kitchen in Kigali, and actually understand what I'm seeing.
My travels are guided by the spirit of the old Silk Road - the centuries-long web where civilisations, beliefs and crafts met and changed one another.
Through frequent visits to Rwanda, Kenya, Morocco and Egypt, I've grown a deep love for African cultures in their diversity - with a particular attachment to Rwandan language and tradition. That curiosity doesn't stop at Africa: I'm drawn to the Middle East too, to Egypt and the Gulf, to their history, spiritual depth and architecture. It's why I've spent years studying Arabic - a slow, personal way of meeting those cultures on their own terms.
I share these journeys under my own name, so the stories stay connected to a real person - not an algorithm. If you travel with curiosity and a little respect, the world opens up. That's the whole idea behind this site.
The markets, kitchens and lanes matter more to me than the monuments. I look for the human experience that gives a place its soul.
Language, faith, architecture and craft aren't museum pieces - they still shape how people meet, trade and remember.
From Rwandan dishes to Levantine and Swahili flavours, a shared meal is still the fastest, truest way into a community.
I travel to understand, not to consume. That means listening first, and telling stories the way the people in them would recognise.
A lifelong fascination with how language carries culture. I'm always learning - Arabic is the current long project.
From Rwandan staples to Moroccan tagines, Levantine mezze and beyond - food is how I read a place and connect with people.
I follow how technology connects continents the way the Silk Road once did - a quiet thread through everything I write.

Where a fascination with Arabic, history and architecture turned into a years-long study.
Africa · Asia · beyond
Every new journey adds another thread to the mosaic - and another story for here.
